His arrival wasn’t greeted with much enthusiasm, but he played a massive part in our double win. Now is the time to sign Adam and Paulo Bernardo permanently.

When Adam Idah arrived at Celtic park on a cold winters night in early February, his arrival wasn’t exactly greeted with much enthusiasm. But yesterday on a warm spring day at Hampden he was the toast of the Celtic supporters as he struck the goal that clinched us the double.

Make no mistake, Adam played a massive part in our league and cup win. His late goals against Hibs, Motherwell and the Rangers proved crucial in the destination of the title.

Yesterday he wrote himself into Celtic folklore by grabbing a fine opportunist strike right at the death to bring the Scottish cup back home to paradise.

The big question now is will the board sanction the cash for a permanent move for the Irish international? He’s a player that Brendan clearly rates so the club should be making it a priority to sign him up on a permanent basis.

That goal will no doubt have added another million or so into his price tag, but it’s money that we’ve got to spend.

Not just because of his winner yesterday, but his overall contribution of 9 goals in 19 games in his short time at the club. Has a loanee ever made such a vital contribution to the club?

Adam’s a very talented player who gives us an extra dimension up front, and one who will only get better under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers.

The same can also be said of fellow loanee Paulo Bernardo, who played a huge part in Adam’s winning goal. Paulo who despite not being a regular has showed he has great potential in the games he has played this season. Over to you Celtic.
