Graeme Souness today tried to excuse his disrespectful remarks towards Callum McGregor during our opening day thumping by Germany.
Souness who was doing punditry for ITV has ‘claimed’ that he didn’t remember Callum’s name in the heat of the moment, so described him as ‘the Celtic captain’ instead.
Yeah right Graeme so you did. He must think we’re as gullible as the supporters of the team he loves so much.
If Souness thinks this draws a line under the whole episode then he can think again. Instead he’s put his foot further in it, and by spouting such nonsense made himself look even more foolish.
Souness as well as being a former Scotland international is employed as a ‘footballing expert’ yet he claims not to know the name of a guy who has 61 caps for his country and won 22 major domestic honours.
Although that’s the problem, Souness does know who Callum is and it eats away at him because he’s had to watch him lead the club to unsurpassed success this past decade.
Souness like the rest to the Rangers supporters knows fine well who Callum is. By refusing to acknowledge this Souness has made himself look an even bigger fool than he was to start with.
