Livakovic would be a fantastic signing, but there’s a number of reasons as to why it won’t be happening.

Celtic were yesterday linked with a stunning move for Croatian number one Dominik Livakovic as the club steps up their search for Joe Harts successor.

Livakovic who plays for Fenerbahce and is currently representing his nation at the euros would be a fantastic signing, but one that has virtually no chance of happening.

There is a number of reasons for it not happening. One of which is that he is 29 years old and would cost a massive €9 million euros (£7.6 million)

Another reason being that the report that was published by the Daily Record was actually based on a story from a source on X which is more unreliable than the Scottish rag itself.

The source in question is Turkish outlet AS Marca who are not known to be very reliable. For example they once linked Ryan Kent with a move to Celtic! So I think we can all file this one under the complete made up nonsense category.

As good as signing someone of the calibre of Livakovic would be, I’m afraid it ain’t going to be happening. Of course I’d love to be proven wrong, but it’s extremely unlikely.
